Hut Finder (dochutfinder.com) is an independent tool for checking real-time availability of Department of Conservation (DOC) huts in New Zealand. We are not affiliated with DOC. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Information We Collect

Email address

If you sign in or subscribe to Hut Finder Pro, we collect your email address. We use it only to send you a magic sign-in link and to verify your subscription status. We do not send marketing emails.

Device location (optional)

If you grant location permission, your device's coordinates are used to sort huts by distance on the map. Your location is never sent to our servers or stored anywhere.

Payment information

Pro subscriptions are processed entirely by Stripe. We never see, receive, or store your card details. Stripe is PCI-DSS compliant. See Stripe's Privacy Policy for details.

How We Use Your Information

Hut Finder itself does not set any first-party cookies. However, the following third-party services used by the site may set cookies or collect anonymous usage data:

Google AdSense

Vercel Analytics

We use Vercel Analytics to collect anonymous, aggregated page view data (no personal identifiers, no cross-site tracking). See Vercel's Privacy Policy.

Data Retention

Your email address is retained for as long as your account or subscription is active. If you cancel your Pro subscription and wish to have your email removed from our systems, contact us at the address below and we will delete it promptly.

Your Rights

Depending on where you are located, you may have the right to:
