By using Hut Finder (dochutfinder.com), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
Service Description
Hut Finder is an independent availability tracker for bookable Department of Conservation (DOC) huts in New Zealand. The service displays cached availability data on an interactive map to help users plan tramping trips.
Not affiliated with DOC: Hut Finder is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the New Zealand Department of Conservation. All hut bookings and fees are handled directly by DOC at doc.govt.nz. We do not process hut booking payments.
Data Accuracy
Availability data is fetched from DOC's systems and cached for up to 2 hours. This means displayed availability may not reflect real-time changes. We make no guarantee that availability shown in Hut Finder will match availability on DOC's website at any given moment.
Always confirm availability directly on the official DOC website before making travel plans or arrangements.
Pro Subscription
Pro subscriptions are billed monthly or semi-annually via Stripe.
You may cancel your subscription at any time through the account management portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods.
Subscription fees are for access to this tool only. DOC hut booking fees are separate and paid directly to DOC.
We reserve the right to change pricing with reasonable notice.
Acceptable Use
You may use Hut Finder for personal trip planning. You may not:
Scrape, crawl, or automate requests to our service or API
Use the service to build a competing product without permission
Attempt to circumvent subscription restrictions or authentication
Use the service in any way that violates applicable law
Limitation of Liability
Hut Finder is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:
Inaccurate or outdated availability information
Missed hut bookings or unavailable accommodation
Travel costs, losses, or damages arising from reliance on this service
Service interruptions or data unavailability
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes.
